Faro Los Morrillos de Cabo Rojo

Faro Los Morrillos stands on an isolated limestone headland at the southern end of Cabo Rojo. Built in 1882, the lighthouse marked the passage between the Caribbean Sea, Mona Passage, and Atlantic approaches while becoming one of Puerto Rico's defining coastal landmarks. The walk toward the structure reveals salt flats, dry coastal habitat, dramatic cliffs, and views over the turquoise water near Playa Sucia. Conditions are exposed and shade is limited, so visitors should carry water and verify current refuge access before setting out.
