A historic red-and-black former firehouse and museum in Plaza Las Delicias, recognized as one of Ponce's defining landmarks.
Built in 1882 as an exhibition pavilion designed by Máximo Meana, Parque de Bombas became Ponce's official firehouse in 1885. Its vivid red-and-black exterior, twin front towers, and Moorish and Gothic Victorian influences make the wooden building immediately recognizable in Plaza Las Delicias. It later became a museum honoring the city's firefighting history and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. The official tourism listing currently reports that the building is closed for renovations until further notice.
